Amount earned by (8 men + 5 boys) in 1 day = 3240/6 = Rs. 540….. (1)
Amount earned by (3 men + 2 boys) in 1 day = 2484/12 = 207….. (2)
On solving equation (1) and (2), we get
Amount earned by a man in 1 day = Rs. 45
Amount earned by a boy in 1 day = Rs. 36
Therefore, number of days taken by (5 men + 4 boys) to earn Rs. 1476 = 1476/{(5 × 45 + 4 × 36)} = 4 days
