Question
Vijay can do a piece of work in 16 days and Sanjay can
do the same work in 24 days. If Vijay works for 6 days and got Rs. 2700, and the remaining work will completed by Sanjay, then how much rupee Sanjay earned?Solution
Assume total work = LCM (16, 24) = 48 If the entire work is 48 units, Vijay can complete 3 unit per day, and Sanjay can complete 2 unit per days In 6 days, Vijay completes 18 units and got Rs.2700 i.e. Rs.150 per unit. Remaining work = (48 – 18)unit = 30 unit ∴ Sanjay earning = Rs.30 × 150 = Rs. 4500
