The average weight of 7 boxes P, Q, R, S, T, U and V is 72kg. Another box A is added to group and the average now becomes 70kg. If another box C whose weight is 8 kg more than that of box A, replaces box P, then the average weight of Q, R, S, T, U, V, A and C becomes 69kg. Find the weight of box P?

(P + Q + R + S + T + U + V) = 7 × 72 = 504 kg (P + Q + R + S + T + U + V + A) = 8 × 70 = 560 kg A = 560 – 504 = 56 kg C = 56 + 8 = 64 kg (Q + R + S + T + U + V + A + C) = 8 × 69 = 552 kg Q + R + S + T + U + V + 56 + 64 = 552 Q + R + S + T + U + V = 552 – 56 – 64 = 432 P = 504 – 432 = 72 Kg
