Sir/Madam I attended the mock interview session on 14th August 2021. The feedback I got from it was very valuable in curating my overall approach the interview. The interaction with the panel was a great experience. They pointed out some of my flaws which I was susceptible to. Like going off on the tangent. Immediately speaking about topics I had knowledge about while sidelining topics I was less confident about. These tendencies came out during the mock session and were rightly pointed out. Being put into situation makes people commit mistakes which they would not have theoretically assumed about themselves. I spent the next two days focusing on the feedback which helped keep my answers crisp and to the point. Besides this, the interaction itself was a confidence boost which helped me with easing my nerves for the actual interview. It was a very valuable experience.

I started with the strategy that I give chapter tests directly to evaluate my performance but on a particular topic and then go with the video thereafter. I’m Shilpi and I have a Post-Graduate Degree in MCom from the Delhi School of Economics and I quit my IBM job to prepare for the regulatory body exams. I was also an athlete having represented both my college and Delhi in hockey as the team’s captain. I wanted growth in my career and it gave me the push to prepare for the RBI exams. I followed a targeted approach for the prelims and focused on the tougher areas like Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. I feel that if you are aspiring for the RBI exam, you need to prepare all the important topics and try avoiding skipping the topics. Hi everyone, I’m Saran and I have been preparing for almost 7 years for the RBI and to achieve it, I still cannot believe that it has happened. My initial plan had been the UPSC and then I focused on RBI. If you are preparing for the RBI Exams , then I can safely say that you need to be prepared right from phase one. I had help from ixamBee’s Sectional Mock Tests, Previous Year Papers and Full Mock Tests. In each of these, I attempted topics like Quants and Finance which was different and needed more focus. I also suggest being well prepared for General Awareness by reading all the latest current affairs news. BeePedia was very helpful for me in this regard. Has been working in SBI as PO for last 7 years after B.Tech Mechanical Engineering. Got to know about RBI Grade B since already working as a banker with SBI and encouragement from friends at RBI, led me to dream of this wonderful job opportunity. Started the habit of reading newspapers only for preparing for the GA part of the RBI Grade B exam. Took more than 25 mock tests to prepare for the prelims/ Phase 1, especially the ixambee mock tests for strong foundation. Prepared with personal notes and other study materials. Though the intensity of preparation slackened for Phase 2/ Mains, but had a strong comeback in preparation for the interview part. I had a keen interest in pursuing different options apart from corporate, for Finance management, due my passion in the subject. That’s how came across the opportunity of RBI Grade B Manager exam, as introduced by a guest lecturer, a former RBI officer and ex-faculty of Reserve Bank of India Staff College, Chennai, in my MBA-Finance class at IIM, Amritsar. Soon after the notification of RBI Grade B 2023, started the preparation wholeheartedly. And already with CAT background and MBA major in Finance, I found that the RBI Grade B exam syllabus requirements were similar and achievable with right preparation and dedication. With the right information, focused strategy, and perfect execution, I could achieve the dream come true job of being an RBI Grade B officer in my 1st attempt, even while working with ICICI bank. Banking on my strong points and gathering informations on the new areas of ESI and government schemes from RBI website and bulletins, I could prepare pretty well for the exam. I had a background in Chemistry and was teaching the subject to NEET students after my first attempt at the RBI exams. I was quite demotivated since I had failed once and did not want to take risks. I left a lucrative job in data analytics to prepare for the Civil Services. And I did not clear the exam twice, not even the prelims. I decided that I wouldnt try again but instead would look for other opportunities in Government service. That was a main motivator which had me attempting the RBI exams. After my engineering graduation, I was in a stage to choose how to go further, either PSUs or Banking. That’s when I prepared for SBI PO, which I cleared and was working as PO when I wanted to join RBI, after one year. That’s how I came across RBI Grade B exam, which was difficult to clear in initial attempts, what with the work load and audits in SBI and not able to prepare well. So, I quit the job at SBI to dedicate my time sincerely and severely for RBI Grade B exam. Since I didn’t have any plan B, I had no other option but to be an RBI officer. Even though an engineer by qualification, I was interested in finance and economy, which led me to pursue the banking profession. I had already cleared JAIIB/CAIIB exam while in SBI. So, my preparation for SBI PO and other finance management exams helped me a lot in preparing for and ultimately achieving the RBI Grade B officer post. Since after resigning from SBI in February, I had only a few months for studying for RBI Grade B, I completely relied on coaching class study materials and joined Interview guidance course of ixamBee. I was working in a Qatar based company when I decided to attempt the Civil Services. I focused primarily on the Civil Services and in between I tried out the RBI Grade B exam without much of a preparation for it. Eventually, I gave up my UPSC preparation and focused on RBI. I had already given two unsuccessful attempts and this was my third attempt. It is nothing like the UPSC and even the GK section is different. RBI preparation takes an entirely different kind of focus. I knew Maths and Reasoning because of my Civil Engineering background but I had to push myself more with the RBI as the questions are different and the approach is also different. I qualified for the CA in 2017 and worked in one of the Big 4 audit firms for 8 months. I then quit my job to prepare for the civil services . It was in 2022 that I came to know about the RBI Grade B job opportunity and decided to go for it. I missed the final selection in my first and second attempt. This time, I made it a point to understand the exam perfectly well. You should never underestimate how important it is to know the exam pattern and syllabus well. Along with that, you need to prepare for the current affairs section as hard as you prepare for the other sections. Don’t forget to practice regularly and focus on the topics that are tougher for you. I realized that this technique would help me be thorough with all the topics. Juggling a job, family and children while preparing for prestigious exams like the RBI Grade B may not be possible but I was able to do the impossible when I cleared the exam. I was working as an SBI PO officer and my dream was ultimately to be a part of RBI. I was working full time and I would wake up early in the morning to put in some hours to prepare for the exam. I hail from Sonipat, Haryana, but have been residing in Delhi for past 8 years. I am also a national level hockey player, representing Delhi in national and University sports meets. After completing M.Com from Delhi School of Economics, I had been working in IBM India private Ltd. But soon I felt that I wouldn’t achieve much with respect to my career in next 5 to 10 years, that’s when I decided to try my luck with job in government regulatory bodies, especially RBI, because the RBI Grade B syllabus seemed to be in match with what I studied in my BCom and MCom. So, I resigned from my job in IBM and started preparing rigorously for RBI Grade B exam along with other regulatory bodies exam. Finance and Management being my strong point, I could prepare well for the RBI Grade B exam, but required a targeted approach to clear cutoff in Quant and Reasoning in prelims. So, with full focus, I analyzed and solved previous year question papers and numerous sectional and full length mock tests from various sources. My specific strategy included not to spend too much time solving puzzles. Thus, after choosing my strong topics, brushed up on the basics. Making personal notes from news and regular reading of Hindu newspaper, especially the editorials were really helpful for ESI and current issues section.
