    Let the total work = 48 units Efficiency of horse who can complete the work in 16 hours = 48/16 = 3 units/hour Efficiency of horse who can complete the work in 24 hours = 48/24 = 2 units/hour Therefore, time taken by both horses to complete the work together = 48/(3 + 2) = 9.6 hours Therefore, time taken by the elephant to complete the work = 9.6hours
