Xrsquo;s six day work = 6/36 = 1/6.
Remaining work = 1 ndash; 1/6 = 5/6
This work was done by Y in 20 days.
Y does 5/6th of the work in 20 days, he will finish the work in 20 times; 6/5 = 24 days.
X Y together would take 1/36 + 1/24 = 5/72 i.e. 14(2/5) days to complete the work.
