    Solution

    Time taken by A to complete the whole work = 24/0.40 = 60 days
    Let total work = 60 units
    Amount of work done by A and B together in one day = 60/15 = 4 units
    Amount of work done by A alone in one day = 60/60 = 1 units
    Amount of work done by B in one day = 4 – 1 = 3 units
    Desired time = 0.75 × 60/3 = 15 days
