Study the following information carefully and answer the questions. The given bar graph shows the total number of students playing football in five different schools namely A, B, C, D and E and also given the percentage of  students playing badminton in these five different schools. Note: (i) The total number of students = Total number of students playing football + Total number of students playing badminton (ii) Students are playing only two sports i.e. Football and Badminton.

The number of students playing football in college B is approximately what percentage more than the number of students playing badminton in college C?

Solution

The number of students playing football in college B = 40 The number of students playing badminton in college C = 15 × (70/30) = 35 Required % = [(40 – 35)/35] × 100 = 14% approx.
