Let speed of train is ‘x’ m/s So, length of train = 33 × x = 33x metres And, 33x + 387 = 1.4 × x × 42 Or, 25.8x = 387 Or, x = 15 m/s So, length of train = 33 × 15 = 495 metres Desired time = (495 + 90)/15 = 39 seconds
