    Solution

    Let the length of train ‘A’ be ‘x’ metres Therefore, length of the goods train = ‘4x’ metres Speed of train ‘A’ = 81 × (5/18) = 22.5 m/s According to the question, 4x + x = 22.5 × 24 => 5x = 540 => x = 108 Therefore, time taken by train ‘B’ to cross train ‘A’ = {(108 + 200)/(24 + 20)} = 7 seconds
