But mistakenly the amount was shared in the ratio 8:6:7 So, Let 8y, 6y and 7y be the mistaken shares. 15x = 21y.....(1) Given, 5x - 6y = 15,000 7y - 6y = y = 15,000 x = (21/15) × 15,000 = 21,000 Hence Required money will be = (8y-3x)  [putting the values of x and y] = Rs(1,20,000 - 63,000) = Rs.57,000
