Total quantity of mixture = 400 + 500 = 900 litres Quantity of milk in final mixture = (3/15) × 900 = 180 litres Quantity of water in mixture ‘A’ = 400 − 180 = 220 litres Quantity of salt in mixture ‘B’ = (4/15) × 900 = 240 litres Quantity of water in mixture ‘B’ = 500 − 240 = 260 litres Required difference = 260 − 220 = 40 litres
