B 126 litres Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 145 litres Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 162 litres Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ, Let the initial quantities of honey and water in the vessel be 5x litres and 3x litres, respectively. 144 litres mixture contains 90 litres honey and 54 litres water. According to question: 0.48 × (8x – 144 + 58) = 5x – 90 3.84x – 41.28 = 5x – 90 1.16x = 48.72 x = 42 So, the initial quantity of water in the vessel = 3 × 42 = 126 litres
