    Let the present age of Karan be 5x and that of Saroj be 7x. As per the question, (5x-8)/(7x-8) = 2/3 ⇒ 3(5x-8) = 2 (7x-8) ⇒ 15 x - 24 = 14x - 16 ⇒ 15x - 14x = 24 - 16 Solving for x, we get x = 8. ∴ Present age of Saroj is 8 × 7 = 56 years.
