If S is related to China, N is related to Singapore
similarly U is related to? Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below: There are 9 persons M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T and U who live on nine different floors of a building but not necessarily in the same order. The ground floor is as 1st floor and just above floor is as 2nd floor and so on till the topmost floor is as 9th floor. Each one of them goes to different countries i.e. USA, Russia, China, Singapore, Switzerland, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Japan not (not necessarily in the same order) and like different fruits viz. Apple, Banana, Guava, Grapes, Mango, Papaya, Watermelon, Cherry and Strawberry (not necessarily in the same order). There are 2 floor gap between the floors of P and T. P lives on an even number floor but below the floor number 6 and goes to Switzerland. T lives above the floor of P and likes Strawberry and goes immediately before the person who goes to Singapore. R lives on an odd number floor below the floor on which P live. There are 5 floor gap between the floor on which R and N lives. The person goes to Japan lives at the top most floors. Not more than two persons go between the person who goes to Singapore and the person who goes to Thailand. There are three persons live between the one who like Guava and Grapes. R likes Apple and M likes Banana and goes to Malaysia and Japan respectively. The one who likes Papaya and Grapes goes to USA and Indonesia respectively. Q lives on 6th floor and goes immediately before the one who goes to China and like Cherry. There is one floor gap between the one who goes to USA and Russia. O lives immediately below the floor on which U lives who likes Mango . Watermelon is liked by P. O does not like Guava.Solution
From the given statements, there are 2 floors gap between the floors of P and T. P lives on an even number floor but below the floor number 6 and goes to Switzerland. Here we get 2 possibilities i.e. Case 1 and Case2. T lives above the floor of P and likes strawberry fruit and goes immediately before the person who goes to Singapore. R lives on an odd number floor below the floor on which P live From the given statements, the person goes to Japan lives at the top most floor. R likes apple fruit and M likes banana fruit and goes to Malaysia and Japan respectively. There are 5 floors gap between the floor on which R and N lives. Here Case 1 is ruled out now.    Â
From the given statements, Q lives on 6th floor and goes immediately before the one who goes to China and like cherry fruit. O lives immediately below the floor on which U lives who likes mango fruit. Watermelon fruit is liked by P. O does not like Guava. The one who likes papaya and grapes fruit goes to USA and Indonesia. There is one floor gap between the one who goes to USA and Russia. There are three person lives between the one who like guava and grapes fruit. So, the final arrangement is such as Â
