The question given below consists of two statements
numbered I and II given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read all the statements and answer the question. Seven persons L, M, N, O, P, Q , and R sit around a circular table and face towards the centre of the table however not necessarily in the same order. Who sits third to the left of L ? Statement I: O sits second to the right of L. M sits second to the left of R. R and O are immediate neighbours. Q sits second to the right of P. M and Q are not immediate neighbours. Statement II: L sits immediate right of Q. Only two persons sit between Q and R (from either side of the table) . N sits second to the right of R. M and O are immediate neighbours.Solution
From statement I alone, D sits second to the right of A. B sits second to the left of G. G and D are immediate neighbours. F sits second to the right of E. B and F are not immediate neighbours. We get:
P sits third to the left of L . So, data given in statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question. From statement II alone, A sits immediate right of F. Only two persons sit between F and G (from either side of the table) . C sits second to the right of G. B and D are immediate neighbours. We get:
P sits third to the left of L. So, data given in statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question. Therefore, data given either in statement I alone or in statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question.
