Question
Train 'A' having a speed of 25 m/s can cross a man in 6
seconds. The length of train 'B' is 30 metres more than the length of 'A'. If the speed of 'B' is 35 m/sec and both trains are travelling towards each other, then find the time taken by them to cross each other.Solution
Length of train 'A' = 25 × 6 = 150 metres
Length of train 'B' = 150 + 30 = 180 metres
Relative speed = 25 + 35 = 60 m/sec
Required time = (150 + 180) ÷ 60 = 330 ÷ 60 = 5.5 seconds
