Time taken by ‘B’ to complete the total work = 36 × 3 = 108 days

Efficiency of ‘A’ = 108 / 36 = 3 units/day
Efficiency of ‘B’ = 108 / 108 = 1 unit/day
Work done in 18 days = (3 + 1) × 18 = 72 units
So, together they complete = 72 / 108 = 2/3 of the total work
