Let the counts be 8x, 5x and 3x. (0.25×8x) + (0.50×5x) + (1×3x) = 90 2.00x + 2.50x + 3.00x = 90 7.50x = 90 ⇒ x = 12 Number of 50p coins = 5x = 60 Required = 75% of 60 = 0.75×60 = 45
