Let the quantity of gold, silver and platinum be ‘5x’ kg, ‘6x’ kg and ‘8x’ kg, respectively. Total quantity of silver and platinum together = 140 kg 6x + 8x = 140 Or, x = 10 Difference between the quantity of silver and gold = {(6 – 5) × 10} = 10 kg
