Rs. 42000 is divided among 'Aman', 'Bhanu' and 'Chirag' in
such a way such that amount received by 'Aman' is (7/10) of amount received by 'Bhanu' and (7/4)th of the amount received by 'Chirag'. Find the amount received by 'Bhanu'.Solution
ATQ,
Let the amount received by 'Bhanu' be Rs. 10x
Therefore, amount received by 'Aman' = 10x × (7/10) = Rs. 7x
Amount received by 'Chirag' = 7x × (4/7) = Rs. 4x
According to the question,
10x + 7x + 4x = 42000
⇒ 21x = 42000
⇒ x = 42000 ÷ 21 = 2000
Therefore, amount received by 'Bhanu' = 10x = 10 × 2000 = Rs. 20,000
