    Ratio of the number of pens with Sumit, Rohan, Chetan,

    Dheeraj and Gagan is 2 : 3 : 4 : 5 : 6 respectively. If two of them have more than 20% of the total number of pens and one of them has exactly 20% of the total number of pens, find the number of pens Rohan is having if Chetan has 40 pens.

    Solution

    Let number of pens with Sumit, Rohan, Chetan, Dheeraj and Gagan be 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x and 6x respectively. It is clear from the question that Chetan has 40 pens which is 20% of total number of pens Let total number of pens be x. ∴ 20% of x = 40⇒ x = 200 ∴ Rohan has 3/20 × 200 = 30 pens
