Question
In a savings pot, coins of 10-paise, 25-paise, and 1-rupee
are kept in the ratio 18:7:5. If the total value of coins is Rs. 2516, determine how many 1-rupee coins are there.Solution
ATQ,
Let number of coins = 18x, 7x, 5x
Amount = (18x × 0.10) + (7x × 0.25) + (5x × 1)
⇒ 1.8x + 1.75x + 5x = 2516
⇒ 8.55x = 2516
⇒ x = 294
So, number of 1-rupee coins = 5x = 5 × 294 = 1470
