Question
Class ‘K’ has number of girls as 90% of boys in that
class. Class ‘L’ has 10% fewer boys than class ‘K’ and 35% more total students than class ‘K’. Find the ratio of girls in class ‘K’ to that in class ‘L’.Solution
ATQ,
Let the number of boys in class ‘K’ = 100x
Then, number of girls in class ‘K’ = 0.90 × 100x = 90x
Number of boys in class ‘L’ = 0.90 × 100x = 90x
Total number of students in class ‘L’ = (100x + 90x) × (135/100) = 256.5x
Number of girls in class ‘L’ = 256.5x – 90x = 166.5x
Required ratio = (90x):(166.5x) = 20:37
