    ‘X’, ‘Y’ and ‘Z’ divide a certain sum of

money among themselves. The average of the amount with them is Rs. 2700. Share of ‘X’ is 12.5% more than share of ‘Y’ and 10% less than share of ‘Z’. What is the share of ‘Y’ (in Rs.)?
A 2200 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 2600 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 2400 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 2500 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E 2800 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let share of ‘Y’ = Rs. 80x Share of ‘X’ = 80x + {12.5% of 80x} = Rs. 90x Share of ‘Z’ = (10/9) × 90x = Rs. 100x Total amount with ‘X’, ‘Y’ and ‘Z’, together = 2700 × 3 = Rs. 8100 So, 90x + 80x + 100x = 8100 Or, 270x = 8100 Or, x = 30 So, share of ‘Y’ = 80x = 80 × 30 = Rs. 2400
