Question
The ratio of two numbers is 6:7. If each number is decreased by 3, the ratio becomes 9:11. Find the smaller numbers.
Solution
Let the two numbers be 6x and 7x. => (6x-3)/(7x-3) = 9/11 => 66x β 33 = 63x β 27 => x = 2 The smaller numbers = 6Β ΓΒ 2 = 12
