is divided by N, the result is 3/5 and when N is divided by O, the result is 3/2, and when O is divided by P, the result is 8. If M exceeds P by 31/45, then what is value of fraction N?Solution
M/N = 3/5 = 9/15 = 36/60
N/O = 3/2 = 15/10 = 60/40
O/P = 8 = 40/5
So, M: N: O: P = 36: 60: 40: 5
Let M = 36k, N = 60k, O = 40k, and P = 5k
=> M - P = 31/45
=> 36k - 5k = 31/45
=> 31k = 31/45
=> k = 1/45
Hence, N = 60k = 60/45 = 4/3
