Question
Three numbers are in ratio 3:5:6. If the sum of the squares of those three numbers is 280 then find the sum of the three numbers.
Solution
A : B : C = 3x : 5x : 6x A2 + B2 + C2 = 9x2 + 25x2 + 36x2 = 70x2 => 70x2 = 280 => x = 2 => A + B + C = 3x + 5x + 6x = 14x = 14 × 2 = 28
