    groceries, 50% of the remaining on entertainment, and saves the rest. If the amount spent on groceries is Rs. 9,000, then find his savings.
    A Rs.7,680 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B Rs.7,500 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C Rs.9,520 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D Rs.5,100 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ, Let the total income of Ravi be Rs. ‘100m’
    Amount spent on rent = 0.20 × 100m = Rs. ‘20m’
    Amount spent on groceries = 0.30 × 100m = Rs. ‘30m’
    Remaining income = 100m − 20m − 30m = Rs. ‘50m’
    Amount spent on entertainment = 0.5 × 50m = Rs. ‘25m’
    Savings = 50m − 25m = Rs. ‘25m’
    Now, 30m = 9,000
    Or, m = 300
    Therefore, savings = 25m = 25 × 300 = Rs. 7,500
