Question
The spending habits of A, B, and C follow a ratio of
3:2:4, while their savings follow a ratio of 3:1:2. The combined expenditure of all three individuals amounts to Rs. 45,000, and A's total income is Rs. 24,000. Calculate the total income of C.Solution
Let the expenditure of A, B and C be Rs. β3xβ, Rs. β2xβ and Rs. β4xβ respectively.
And, the savings of A, B and C be Rs. β3yβ, Rs. βyβ and Rs. β2yβ respectively.
According to question,
3x + 2x + 4x = 45000
x = Rs. 5000
And, 3x + 3y = 24000
3y = 24000 β 15000
3y = 9000,
y = Rs. 3000
So, income of C = 4x + 2y = 20000 + 6000 = Rs. 26000
