Question
In a container, the ratio of milk to water is 2:1. After pouring in 20 litres of water, the new ratio becomes 2:3. What is the final volume of the mixture?
Solution
ATQ,
Milk : Water = 2:1 β Total = 3 parts
Let total = 3x
β Milk = 2x, Water = 1x
Water after adding = 1x + 20
New ratio = 2x : (x + 20) = 2 : 3
Original = 3 Γ 15 = 45 litres
Final = 45 + 20 = 65 litres
