      Question

The ratio of length to breadth of a rectangle is 4:3

respectively. Perimeter of rectangle is 84 m. If each side of a square is 33.33% less than the breadth of rectangle then What will be the difference between the areas of rectangle and square.
A 284 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 290 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 288 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 275 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E none of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      Let the length of rectangle = 4x Then, breadth will be = 3x 2(l+b) = 84  2(4x + 3x) = 84  x = 6  then, the Length will be = 24 m  then, the Breadth will be = 18 m  Area of rectangle = 24 x 18 = 432m2  Side of square = (2/3) x 18 = 12m  Area of square = 144m2 Hence, the Required difference is = (432 – 144) = 288m2
