    Let the present age of the daughter be ‘x’ years Therefore, present age of the mother = 6x years According to the question, (6x + 12)/(x + 12) = 8/3 Or, 18x + 36 = 8x + 96 Or, 10x = 60 Or, x = 6 Required difference = 6x – x = 5x = 30 years
