Question
Train 'A' having a speed of 25 m/s can cross a man in 4
seconds. The length of train 'B' is 100 metres more than the length of 'A'. If the speed of 'B' is 35 m/sec and both trains are travelling towards each other, then find the time taken by them to cross each other.Solution
Length of train 'A' = 25 × 4 = 100 metres
Length of train 'B' = 100 + 100 = 200 metres
Relative speed = 25 + 35 = 60 m/sec
Required time = (100 + 200) ÷ 60 = 300 ÷ 60 = 5.0 seconds
