Question
M and N together complete a work in 10 days, while N alone
does it in 16 days. If the efficiency of M to O is in the ratio 5:6, what is the ratio of efficiencies of N and O?Solution
ATQ,
Let total work = 80 units {LCM of 10 and 16}
Efficiency of (M + N) = 80/10 = 8 units/day
Efficiency of N = 80/16 = 5 units/day
Therefore, efficiency of M = 8 – 5 = 3 units/day
Efficiency of O = 3 × (6/5) = 18/5 units/day
Required ratio = 5 : 18/5 = 25 : 18
