    Question

The speed of a racer bike is 30% more than a normal

bike. If the time taken by the racer bike to cover (3x + 46) km is equal to the time taken by the normal bike to cover (2x + 60) km. If the speed of a drone is 30 km/hr, then find the time taken by it to cover (x + 100) km.
A 5.0 hours Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 7.5 hours Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 4.2 hours Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 6.4 hours Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E 6.0 hours Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let the speed of normal bike be 'a' km/hr Therefore, speed of racer bike = '1.3a' km/hr According to the question, {(3x + 46)/1.3a} = {(2x + 60)/a} Or, 3x + 46 = 2.6x + 78 Or, 0.4x = 32 Or, 'x' = (32/0.4) = 80 Therefore, (x + 100) = 80 + 100 = 180 Required time taken = (180/30) = 6 hours
