Priya travels a certain distance in 3 hours. Then she
increases her speed by 6 km/hr and travels for 7 hours. If the distance covered with increased speed is 90 km more than the distance covered with the original speed, find the total distance covered by Priya.Solution
ATQ,
Let the initial speed of Priya be ‘x’ km/hr
According to the question,
(x + 6) × 7 – 3x = 90
Or, 7x + 42 – 3x = 90
Or, 4x = 48
Or, x = 12 km/hr
Therefore, total distance covered by Priya = 7(x + 6) + 3x = 7×18 + 36 = 162 km
