    Question

A cyclist can usually travel 90 metres in 5 seconds. How

much distance (in km) can the cyclist cover in 4 hours if he rides at 80% of his normal speed?
A 590.22 km Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 207.36 km Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 384.15 km Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 405.25 km Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ,

    Normal speed of the cyclist = 90/5 = 18 m/s

    80% of normal speed of the cyclist = 18 × 0.8 = 14.4 m/s = 14.4 × 3.6 = 51.84 km/h

    So, distance travelled in 4 hours = 51.84 × 4 = 207.36 km
