Question
A journey of 250 km is partly done by walking at 5 km/h and
the rest by cycling at 25 km/h. If the entire trip took 11 hours, find the walking distance.Solution
ATQ,
Let walking distance = d km
Then, cycling distance = 250 - d km
Equation: d / 5 + (250 - d) / 25 = 11
LCM of 5 and 25 = 25
So, 5d + (250 - d) = 275
5d + 250 - d = 275
4d = 25
d = 6.25
Distance walked = 6.25 km
