    I. 5x2 – 18x + 16 = 0 => 5x2 – 10x – 8x + 16 = 0 => 5x(x – 2) – 8(x – 2) = 0 => (x – 2) (5x - 8) = 0 => x = 2, 8/5 II. 3y2 – 35y - 52 = 0 => 3y2 – 39y + 4y - 52 = 0 => 3y (y – 13) + 4(y – 13) = 0 => (y – 13) (3y + 4) = 0 => y = 13, -4/3 Hence, x = y or the relationship cannot be established.
