    I. 35x² - 46x – 16 = 0 35x² - 56x + 10x – 16 = 0 7x(5x – 8) + 2(5x – 8) = 0 (7x + 2) (5x – 8) = 0 ∴ x = -2/7, 8/5 II. 35y² - 116y + 96 = 0 35y² - 56y - 60y + 96 = 0 7y(5y – 8) – 12(5y – 8) = 0 (7y – 12) (5y – 8) = 0 ∴ y = 12/7, 8/5 Hence,  x ≤ y
