      Question

      I. 2x² - 15x + 27 = 0 II. 2y² - 13y +

      20 = 0 In the following questions two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations. Give answer if;
      A x < y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      B x > y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      C x = y or no relationship cannot be established between x and y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      D x β‰₯ y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      E x ≀ y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      I. 2x² - 15x + 27 = 0 2x² - 6 x – 9 x + 27 = 0 2x(x – 3) - 9(x – 3) = 0 (2x – 9) (x – 3) = 0 ∴x = 9/2 , 3 II. 2y² - 13y + 20 = 0 2y² - 8y – 5y + 20 = 0 2y (y – 4)- 5( y – 4) = 0 (2 y – 5) (y -4) ∴y = 5/2 , 4 Hence no relationship can be established.
