    Question

    I. 66x² - 49x + 9 = 0 II. 46y² - 37y - 30 =

    0 In the following questions two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations. Give answer if;
    A x < y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B x > y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C x=y or no relationship cannot be established between x and y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D x ≥ y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    E x ≤ y Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    I. 66x² - 49x + 9 = 0 66x² - 22x - 27x + 9 = 0 22x(3 x – 1) - 9(3 x – 1) = 0 (3 x – 1) (22 x – 9) = 0 x = 9/22, 1/3  II. 46y² - 37y - 30 = 0 46y² - 60y + 23y  - 30 = 0 2y(23y – 30) + 1(23y – 30) = 0 y = -1/2 , 30/23 Hence, relationship cannot be established between x and y.
