Question
Ramesh purchased a smartphone for Rs. (3900 + x). He sold
it to Komal at a profit of 14%. Komal sold it to Dev at a profit of 22%, and Dev sold it to Priya at a profit of 35%. If Priya paid Rs. 7873.86 for the smartphone, then find the value of 'x'.Solution
ATQ,
(3900 + x) × 1.14 × 1.22 × 1.35 = 7873.86
Or, 3900 + x = (7873.86 / 1.87557)
So, x = 4200 - 3900 = 300
Therefore, the value of 'x' is 300
