Question
A person 'P' bought ‘x’ kg of rice for Rs. 20 per kg
and mixed it with 30 kg of rice bought at Rs. (x + 10) per kg. If cost price of the mixture is Rs. 25 per kg then find the selling price of all of the mixture if he wants to make a profit of 32%.Solution
ATQ;
x × 20 + 30 × (x + 10) = (30 + x) × 25
Or, 20x + 30x + 300 = 750 + 25x
Or, 25x = 450
Or, x = 18
Total quantity of mixture = x + 30 = 18 + 30 = 48
Desired selling price = 1.32 × 48 × 25 = Rs.1584
