    Suppose MP = Rs 100 ∴ Total discounted price after allowing two discounts = Rs 100× 80/100× 85/100 = Rs 68 ∴ Total discount = Rs 100 – 68 = Rs 32 ∴ Required discount % = 32/100×100 = 32% ALTERNATE SHORTCUT METHOD If there are two successive discounts of a% & b %, then net overall discount% =( a+b – ab/100) = (20 + 15 – 20 ×15 /100) = 35 – 3 = 32%
