Question
A mobile phone was sold for Rs. 22,500 at a loss of 10%. If
the same phone had been sold for Rs. 27,000, what would be the profit percentage?Solution
ATQ,
Cost price of the mobile = 22500 ÷ 0.9 = Rs. 25,000
So, percentage of profit earned if the mobile was sold for Rs. 27,000 = {(27000 - 25000)/25000} × 100
= (2000/25000) × 100 = 8%
