There are 900 fruits (apples + oranges) in a basket. Number of apples are 25% more than number of oranges. If 60% of the oranges are sweet, then find the number of sweet oranges in the basket.
Solution
Let number of oranges in the basket be 'x' So, number of apples in the basket = 1.25 × x = '1.25x' ATQ: 1.25x + x = 900 Or, 2.25x = 900 So, x = 400 So, number of oranges in the basket = 400 So, number of sweet oranges in the basket = 400 × 0.60 = 240
