      B Rs. 45,000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      C Rs. 50,000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      D Rs. 60,000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      Let the income of Shalini be Rs. '100q'.
      Money spent on household = 0.20 × 100q = Rs. '20q'
      Remaining income = 100q – 20q = Rs. '80q' Money spent on rent = 0.20 × 80q = Rs. '16q'
      Remaining income = 80q – 16q = Rs. '64q' Money spent on travel = (1/4) × 64q = Rs. '16q'
      Remaining income = 64q – 16q = Rs. '48q' Money spent on personal care = 0.25 × 48q = Rs. '12q'
      Savings = 48q – 12q = Rs. '36q' So, 36q = 18,000
      Or, q = 500
      Therefore, income of Shalini = 500 × 100 = Rs. 50,000
