    B Rs. 1,25,000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C Rs. 1,30,000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D Rs. 1,40,000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let the income of Vikram be Rs. '100q'.
    Money spent on essentials = 0.20 Ă— 100q = Rs. '20q'
    Remaining income = 100q – 20q = Rs. '80q' Money spent on food = 0.20 × 80q = Rs. '16q'
    Remaining income = 80q – 16q = Rs. '64q' Money spent on transport = (1/4) × 64q = Rs. '16q'
    Remaining income = 64q – 16q = Rs. '48q' Money spent on entertainment = 0.25 × 48q = Rs. '12q'
    Savings = 48q – 12q = Rs. '36q' So, 36q = 45,000
    Or, q = 1,250
    Therefore, income of Vikram = 1,250 Ă— 100 = Rs. 1,25,000
